“如果说孩子是种子，那么家庭就是土壤”。

家庭教育是整个教育体系中不可分割的重要组成部分。良好的家庭教育不仅能健全孩子的人格，规范孩子的行为习惯，还能促进孩子学习。英语是一门特殊学科，尤其离不开家庭教育的配合。然而，因为其特殊性，当前初中英语家庭教育的状况相当不容乐观。

一、学生父母的英语语言背景

前不久，本人对自己所任教班级城区110名学生家长作了一次英语综合素质的调查。调查中发现：①他们当中绝大多数年龄在42~45岁之间，以高中毕业居多，约占42%。②英语基础薄弱，将近60%的家长不懂初中英语。③不懂如何引导子女在家学习英语，大多数家长只能配合学校完成孩子的听写作业。

当然,调查中也发现一些可喜的地方。主要体现在：①家长对子女的英语学习普遍比较重视；②家长迫切希望从老师那里得到好的教学建议和做法。③部分家长会利用自己所掌握的一点英语知识辅导孩子做功课.

二、优化家庭教育，促进英语教学

针对目前的家庭教育状况，我们该如何帮助家长优化家庭教育，从而推动学校英语教学呢？

1、帮助家长树立正确的“考试观”。当前，由于我们缺乏一套完善的、切实可行的评价体系来考查学生综合运用语言的能力，导致了家长一种片面的“学习观”，即盲目追求分数。在调查中，我们发现，很多家长过分看重子女的考试分数，往往以考试的成绩来衡量子女的英语学习水平，这样做不仅不利于孩子进步，而且还会严重挫伤孩子学习英语的积极性。其实，我们很多学生的英语天赋是很高的，他们的口说很漂亮，语感也很好，只不过因为初中生的年龄特征，贪玩、自控能力差、注意力不太稳定等等因素，导致了考试成绩不够理想，因此经常受到父母的责骂，影响了学习英语的兴趣。所以，作为学校，首先一定要让家长明确考试的目的和意义，鼓励他们去激发孩子学习英语的“内动力”，点燃和保护好孩子的学习“热情”。作为教师，尽量不要把考试的分数及班级排名告诉家长，给家长带来过多的心理负担。

2、指导家长正确的教育方法。通过调查我们发现，目前，家长普遍重视子女的英语学习，但缺乏有效的教育方法。如很多家长在给孩子听写单词时，要求过高，不准有一个错，而且当天的生词一定要当天过关，这对孩子来说的确很难完成，久而久之，孩子就对自己失去了信心，学习英语的热情也就随之丧失了。所以，指导家长正确的教育方法非常重要。家长要懂得“三会”即：学会赏识，学会“拜师”，学会学习。

（1）学会赏识。当孩子单词听写错时，家长不要责骂，而要学会说：“不错，比我读书时厉害多了”。当孩子独自在房间里朗读课文的时候，你要学会表扬，而且要找一个恰当的时机表扬，并且要注意表扬的艺术，如，你可以这么说“**，你刚才在房间里听英语了”？这时孩子肯定会说“不，我在读英语”，这时候你就说：“真的吗？我还以为是录音机在读呢”。这种对孩子来说无意识的表扬对提高他们的学习积极性是很有帮助的。

（2）学会“拜师”。当一家人在一起休闲的时候，父母可以在比较宽松的环境下向孩子请教英语，如，“××，我饿了怎么说”？或者“晚饭后我们一起去散步怎么样呀”？等等，尽量在家庭中营造英语学习的氛围，孩子还会从中获得一种“成就感”，从而进一步激发求知的欲望。作为家长，不管自身的英语水平如何，只要能够坚持，肯定能对子女的英语学习起到很大的促进作用

（3）学会学习。家长要想引导孩子向健康、快乐的方向发展就得不断加强自身学习。不仅要学习教育学方面的知识，还要学习心理学方面的知识，更多地去了解初中生身心发展的特点。千万要避免因使用不恰当的教育手段，导致家长与孩子之间不和，甚至产生冲突。

3、加强家校联系。家校联系的目的就是努力让家长在教育理念、教育方法上和学校达到共识。家校联系的方式很多。

（1）家长会。目前的家长会普遍存在这种现象，即班主任把前阶段的班级工作和学生整体学习状况向家长作一个总结，然后把后阶段学校和班级要做的工作跟家长汇报一下，家长很难有机会就子女的学习情况跟老师进行个别交流，显然，这种家长会收不到实质性效果。针对这种情况，我们有必要改变一下家长会模式，要切实避免班主任“一言堂”，变家长会为“交流会”，把更多的发言权给家长，让他们，畅所欲言，把在家教育孩子学习英语过程中遇到的问题和苦恼“吐”出来，供大家一起交流讨论，这样效果一定会更好。

（2）电话交流。电话交流是目前较为普遍的家校联系手段，它最大的优点就是“短、平、快”，通过电话交流家长能很快地了解到子女在校情况，教师也能够随时了解到学生在家表现。

（3）家访。家访最大的优点就是给家长一种“亲切感”，尤其对于一些特殊学生，家访是最有效的手段。如本人所教班里有这么一位学生，在家经常上网玩游戏，家长拿他没办法，本人也多次找他谈心，但效果甚微。后来，本人决定亲自去他家里对他进行疏导，经过半个多月的不不懈努力，终于帮他戒掉了这个“游戏”瘾。

（4）家校互联。北京市朝阳区管庄中心小学最近开通了“家校互联”信息平台，老师们可以在家校互联软件平台上编发信息到家长的手机对学生相关情况予以及时通知，家长通过手机回复的信息同样会显示在老师们使用的网络主页上，双方可以即时沟通学生状况。如一天，该校一名学生家长收到了儿子班主任发来的一条短信息：“标题：表扬，内容：您的孩子在昨天的英语课上表现积极，受到各校听课老师的好评，特此表扬。留言人：田凤艳老师（直接回复给对方留言）。“家校互联”的最大优点就是“省时、便捷”，它还可以“群发”，如学校要向家长汇报近期情况时可以通过群发来完成。

4、组织家长参加学校举办的各项英语活动。现在很多学校每年都要举行一系列的英语活动，如英语演讲比赛、英语小品比赛、英语歌曲比赛，有些学校甚至还举办“英语节”。但据本人了解，这些活动大多局限于学生参与，家长的参与程度不高。设想一下，如果让家长们也参与到这些活动中来，现场感受一下英语学习的“魅力”，亲眼目睹一下自己孩子的英语风采，那该有多好啊！孩子学习英语的热情也会随之越发高涨。
