Why should people care? Because we need animals, and because once they are gone, there will never be any more.Animals are more than just beautiful or interesting. For example, when farmers killed large numbers of hawks, the farmers' stores of corn and grain were destroyed by rats and mice. Why? 那东西，长五寸，宽三寸，不重，摸一下它，手上湿漉漉的，它身上是绿的，如绒一般柔的绿毛。它的头从肚子里伸出来时特别可爱，两只小如绿豆般的眼直勾勾地看着我，很快又缩回到肚里。

它就是绿毛龟。

据我了解，绿毛龟是中国的瑰宝，和白玉龟，二头龟，蛇形龟合称为四大奇龟。汉唐时，盛行养龟，许多文献对绿毛龟有祥尽的记载。在唐朝，绿毛龟被列为宫廷里的五大宝物之一。

我第一眼见到绿毛龟时就对它一见钟情，而这只绿毛龟从此也成了我们一家大小的宠物。

我用了一个非常大的玻璃缸为它布置了一个美丽的家。当它舒适自在地游来游去时，碧绿如翡翠的毛好似被微风吹拂着的头发，温柔地在清澈透亮的水里飘散着，那姿态，有说不出的高雅。我给它取了一个名字，叫“胜龟”。

一般的龟是食素的，而绿毛龟却是食荤的。它吃虾，吃鱼，不过食量不大。把鱼和虾丢进缸里时，它先用口衔着，然后用手捧着食物，一口一口，咬，嚼，吞，津津有味地吃着，它那样子好像在品尝美味佳肴。我喜欢看它的吃相，每一天傍晚，我都坐在玻璃缸前，喂，看，笑。

每次上学时，我绝不会忘记和它道别；下午放学回来后，又向它打招呼；平时我有事没事总在玻璃缸前，亲昵地喊“胜龟”，“胜龟！”

说也奇怪，喊得时间长了，它居然会“回应”——不是用语言，而是用行动。我一喊“胜龟”，它便浮游上来，把头伸出水面，张望。起初，我以为是偶然的，然而后来，次次如此，我便知道，这龟的确是有灵性的。有时它会把头伸出水面来，轻轻抿着嘴，仿佛在微笑，两颗圆圆的眼珠子，也绽出柔和的亮光。

“我……我是人……人类，我听见你们在争论，就找了过来。”

听了他们的抗议，我实在忍不住了，反驳道：“我们这样也是为了生存啊！而且现在我们人类已经在弥补自己所做的错事了！我们也在为鱼儿发明‘净水器’啊！还在为鸟儿搭窝啊！”

“哼！你们为我们发明‘净水器’？那是因为你们发现大自然在报复你们了！你们这完完全全是为了自己！而且，你们发明‘净水器’难道就不会有废水排进我们的家园了吗？”鱼儿厉声说道。

“这……这……”我无话可说。

“好了，无话可说了吧？动物们接着说！骂他个狗血淋头！”狮子说道。

哎，没办法，谁叫我遇见这事呢？只得听他们说。当然，动物们决不会放过这次机会的。

小鸟说：“你们太可恶了，杀了我的亲人不说，还乱砍树木，让我们没地方搭窝了！只得四海为家，倒数漂泊。我的有些亲人又冷又渴又饿都冷死、饿死了！这都是你们的错！”

青蛙好像还没说够：“是啊！乱砍乱伐是你们的过错！全球变暖也是你们的‘杰作’！北方的同胞就快被淹了！你们知不知道！”

细细一想，大家说的很对，乱砍乱伐确实是为了我们自己的利益；侵害青蛙也只为我们人类的营养、健康。让小鸟、鱼儿失去家园的是人类；使北极熊快要被淹的也是我们。难道我们在动物的心里是“无恶不作”的坏人吗？尽管我们尽力做环保，可还是得不到动物们的原谅。我的心情一下子跌入了低谷，回想我们人类所做的一切完完全全是为了自己的利益，我们从来没有考虑过动物们的感受。

这时，沉思许久的狮子大王发话：“是该给他们惩罚了！这样吧！我们请与妹妹来帮忙，引来一次洪水，反正人类乱砍乱伐，也没有多少树木了，让洪水冲毁地球吧！”

狮子大王说完，便准备请雨妹妹，我赶忙说：“不，不要，我们一定不会在伤害你们了，我发誓！我们会多植树，不会把污水排进河流了，不再乱扔垃圾了！不要啊！”
