大熊猫属食肉目大熊猫科，与熊类是表兄弟。其体型似熊，头大而圆，身体肥胖，尾巴极短。一般成年大熊猫体长在120－180厘米，体重60－11公斤。躯干和尾白色，两耳、眼周及四肢全黑。

大熊猫主要栖息于海拔800－3000米的山区森林中，其喜爱在针叶林带、针阔混交林带以及落叶阔叶林带的竹林内活动，主要以竹茎、竹叶和竹笋为食。大熊猫有一定区域的家域，夏季和秋冬季活动区域有所不同，夏季多在海拔较高的区域活动。大多数时间，大熊猫喜欢单独活动，但是近两年在秦岭进行的大熊猫监测活动发现，既是在冬季和春季，也经常能见到几只在一起的大熊猫，在春季更容易见到3－4只在一起的大熊猫。

大熊猫行动缓慢，性情温顺，视觉、听觉都较差，很少有攻击行为，捕食能力也较差。因此，其主要以竹子为食，也偶食小型动物或其它草类。

天空中飞着一只燕子和蜻蜓，燕子对蜻蜓说：“妹子，人类太不像话了，我们家族自从去年以来数量锐减，就这杀虫剂惹的祸，有的没虫子吃饿死了，有的吃了有毒的虫子被毒死了，还有的不小心吸入了杀虫剂呼吸衰竭而死，我担心以后我们会灭绝呀!”蜻蜓连说：“是呀是呀，我们生存得靠水，可是人们用完杀虫剂就把瓶子随手扔到河里，水有毒了，我们产不了仔，也快灭绝了!”它们边飞边说，忽然一阵风夹着刺鼻的味道吹来，它们急忙落在小河边。刚要休息，看到一只奄奄一息的青蛙趴在枯树根下，青蛙无力地说：“我快不行了，人们往河里排污水、丢垃圾，水都污染了，青蛙跑了三成，死了七成，我也很快就要死了。人有病知道求医，我们有病了求谁呀?”这时，晃晃荡荡地走来了狼，动物们刚想跑，狼摆摆手，“我们家族都快被猎人猎杀光了，我们能吃的动物也快灭绝了，活着太奢侈了，我不会吃你们的。”动物们七嘴八舌，越说越气愤，越说越伤心，唏嘘不止。

我们人们所做的一些不文明的行为，给动物们到来威胁，你看，人们在森林里游玩的时候乱丢垃圾，你想想，如果许多人都在这丢垃圾，那么，森林里的环境就遭到破坏，小鸟就没法安家，不仅这样，森林的空气也会被污染的啊！

记得有一次， 天气非常好，既不冷也不热。爸爸和我去了动物园。动物们是那么可爱，大家都非常喜欢它们。

我们看了很长时间熊，它们太可爱了。其中一只站起来，张着大嘴；另一只正坐在地上挥动着它的胳膊，好像在对我们说你好。那边有两只正在练拳击，这让我们笑了个够。但是，那时我看见一个游客朝那些熊投喂食物，我马上跑过去制止他。因为以前就有一些动物被游客投喂的东西伤害过。

但我很想设立一个动物节，说起动物大家都见过很多了吧！我设立动物节的原因是：国家已经开始保护动物了，可有的大人会带着自己的孩子去把天空中自由飞翔的小鸟打下来，每当我去到市场上，看到有人抓了一些小鸡、小鸭、鱼、狗等等的小动物来卖，我就会很伤心，很悲哀，我很想对人们说：“动物也有生命，也有感情、也有爸妈，你们怎么能抓它们来卖呢？”

所以我想设立一个动物节，让小鸟自由自在的生活着，让鱼儿在小河里嘻戏。给小鸡一个欢乐的家庭，给小鸭一潭美丽的水湖，让小狗欢乐成长。我把这一个让动物们过得快乐的动物节设立在农历一月一日，正因为农历的一月一日是春节，所有的人都去亲人家过节了，人人都在家里，把街上有人卖的小动物买了放到森林里去，给它们自由生活，快乐成长，这就是我一直以来最大的希望。

好想让这美妙的一天，早点出现在世界上的每一个地方，我想信这一天一定会出现的，大家一定要好好保护小动物。
