如何提高写作教学质量是每一个英语教师在思考的问题。英语经典诵读与英语写作教学相结合，是笔者在英语写作教学中的一个尝试。

一、初中英语写作存在的问题

1.使用中式英语。使用“中式英语”是在初中英语写作中存在的一个非常普遍的现象。这种现象多与我们自身的语言思维模式有关，由于初中生在英语学习之外接触的语言大多为汉语，这就使得在英语学习过程中经常受到汉语的影响，在英语写作过程中会出现语序的错误或者自创中式英语。

2.卷面潦草，不重视小细节。初中英语写作中，由于学生单词书写的不规范，卷面比较潦草，导致改卷老师对试卷的印象大打折扣，影响了学生成绩的提高。

3.有限的词汇量。词汇量是影响英语写作的重要因素，大部分学生在进行英语写作时，有自己的思路，但写起来困难重重，经常使用重复的英语单词，使文章内容枯燥乏味，主要的影响因素就是学生的词汇量有限。

英语经典诵读能够帮助学生了解西方国家的风土人情，欣赏英美人原汁原味精彩语篇，学习地道的英语词汇、句型和语法，从而使学生能够正确地使用语句进行写作而避免“中式英语”；同时，通过学生对经典文章的诵读，能够扩大在英语写作中的词汇量，使学生在写作中不再局限于教材所教词汇。

三、经典诵读在初中英语写作教学中的应用措施

1.大量诵读，积累词汇。提升英语写作能力的前提就是要掌握好英语的基础知识，奠定坚实的词汇基础。诵读大量的英语经典文章，有助于加强对英语词汇的记忆。

2.大量诵读，积累素材。英语的写作素材是英语写作的重要一环，要提升初中英语的写作能力，在英语经典诵读教学中，教师要多指导学生注意对优秀语句的仿写，以便于学生能够将其中的优秀短语或者句子融入到日后的写作中。如：在学习诗歌 “Life is a journey” 时，笔者要求学生对 “From the hell to the heaven， there’s no straight way to walk. Sometimes up， sometimes down” 进行仿写，于是，有学生写 “In our study， there is no straight way to go. Sometimes easy， sometimes hard. ” ，也有学生写 “In our daily life， there is no straight way， sometimes happy， sometimes sad.”。这种仿写的模式，能够使学生在较短的时间内提高学生的写作能力，从而能自然地应用到自己文章当中。

3.大量诵读，掌握语法。教师在指导学生诵读中，要帮助解决学生不懂的句型、语法。如笔者在教 “A forever friend”时，文中“Someone who changes your life just being part of it；… someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world…” 是定语从句，“When you’re down， and the world seems dark and empty…”运用了时间状语从句， “If you turn and walk away， your forever friend follows. If your lose your way， your forever friend guides you and cheers you on”运用了条件状语从句，教师要根据诵读中出现的问题，及时给与讲解与点拨，并加以适当的补充练习，从而使得学生能够在经典诵读的同时，了解并掌握正确的英语语法。

四、结语

将英语写作教学与经典诵读相结合，能够提升学生对英语的兴趣，不断积累英语词汇、句型，从而更好地应用到英语写作中，不断提高英语写作的水平，同时，通过对英语经典文章的诵读，也能够降低学生在写作中出现的语法错误，提高写作的质量，最终促进初中英语写作教学质量的提升。

【关键词】英语 语法变化 语言规律 启示

一、前言

第二次世界大战之后，英语成为全球通用的国际语言，是目前世界上最重要的语言之一，全世界有三亿多人使用，是联合国规定的六种工作语言之一。自我国20世纪70年代末实行改革开放政策以来，英语在中国人的语言教育领域取得了仅次于汉语的地位，在教育的各个阶段（从学前教育、小学、中学、大学到职业后续教育）英语都得到了大力普及和高度重视。国人投入了巨大的热情和资源学习英语，取得的成效可谓丰硕，单就英语语法来讲，北京某著名高校的英语教授几年前披露：当前中国人在研究英语语法方面的水平整体上已经超越了以英语为母语的人们。是否确如该教授所言？笔者未曾考证，但它从一个侧面反映出中国人在学习英语过程中对语法的重视。国内市面上琳琅满目的英语语法辅导资料就是一个有力的证据。

语法是音义结合的各结构单位之间的组织规则的汇集，它包括词的构形、构词规则和组词成句的规则。一种语言的语法规则是指说这种语言的人必须遵守的习惯，它存在于每个说话人的脑子里，表现在他说出的话语中。每个人运用这些规则都得心应手、灵活自如，尽管他对这些规则的掌握是不自觉的。一个人说出来的话一般都符合他所掌握的那种语言的规则（有时也难免会犯一些语法错误），但是如果没有经过专门的学习，他是不会觉察到他说的这种语言是有规则的，更不知道究竟有哪些规则。所以，学习任何一种语言时都很有必要掌握这种语言的语法，英语当然也不例外。

学习是人的一种有意识的活动，必须运用正确的观点和恰当的方法。相比于方法，观点更重要，因为方法是技术性的，而观点是方向性的。如果有了正确的观点做指导，学习就能势如破竹、甚至事半功倍。如果没有正确的观点做指导，学习就会事倍功半、甚至误入歧途。辩证唯物主义的观点告诉我们：任何事物都处于不断的发展变化之中。我们在学习英语语法过程中也应当秉持这一观点，否则就可能犯守株待兔、刻舟求剑之类的错误，与学习的初衷南辕北辙。下面笔者将运用一个动名词复合结构的例子来验证上述观点。

二、剖析一个动名词复合结构变化的例子

根据常识，权威的往往是可靠的，往往才有说服力。

《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》就是一部权威的工具书。该词典的第六版在“出版前言”中指出：“《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》系《牛津高阶英语词典》的英汉双解版。众所周知，《牛津高阶英语词典》是世所公认的权威英语学习词典，出版50多年来，五经修订，畅销不衰，总发行量逾3000万册，不仅为英语学习词典的编纂树立了典范，对英语教学的发展也起到了积极的推动作用，已经成为中、高级英语学习者必备的工具书”商务印书馆2014年6月出版的第八版是目前在中国国内的最新版本。

《牛津高阶英汉双解词典（第六版）》中，approach词条有如下一个义项：

noun 1[C]（待人接物或思考问题的）方式，方法，态度：She took the wrong approach in her dealings with them.她用错误的手段和他们打交道。（以下简称“例句1”）

《牛津高阶英汉双解词典（第八版）》中，approach词条也有这个内容，只是把上面这个句子翻译为“她和他们打交道的方式错了。”

如果按照以往关于英语语法的共识，“例句1”中的dealings应当去掉s，改为dealing。原因如下：

本文引用薄冰2002年所著的《高级英语语法》一书的观点来论证这个问题，此书的观点代表了众多英语语法研究者的共识。

薄冰教授是我国著名的语言专家，在英语语法研究方面造诣精深，当属泰斗，其关于英语语法的著作在我国销量很大，在业内声誉极高，几十年来影响了几代国人。所以，薄冰教授的观点理所当然地权威。

第一，按照薄冰教授所著的这本《高级英语语法》P311-330的解释，上述“例句1”中的“her dealings with them”称为“动名词复合结构”，由名词的属格或物主代词后加动名词构成，在句子中多用作主语或宾语。

显然，在“例句1”中“her dealings with them”作in的宾语。

第二，动名词同时具有动词特征和名词特征，动名词的动词特征是可以有宾语和状语，动名词的名词特征是可以用作主语、宾语等。“例句1”中的dealing with显然是个动名词，因为它有自己的宾语them，从而应当去掉dealings词尾的s；进而her dealing with them是一个动名词复合结构，作介词in的宾语。

第三，有的动名词只有名词的特征而没有动词的特征，这种动名词称作名词化的动名词。名词化的动名词不能像动词那样有自己的副词、副词短语、宾语等，但可以作为名词，有自己的冠词、定语（形容词或形容词短语）以及复数形式。薄冰所著的上述《高级英语语法》一书P329有以下例句：

He keeps his savings in the bank.他存款于银行。（有复数形式）（以下简称“例句2”）。

很明显，“例句1”中的dealings with不是名词化的动名词，因为它有自己的宾语them，从而dealings with不能被看作是名词化的动名词的复数形式。

第四，薄冰所著的上述《高级英语语法》一书P315在讲解动名词复合结构时给出了如下一个正确的例句：

Excuse my interrupting you.请原谅我打断你的话。（以下简称“例句3”）

这个句子同时出现在《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》第六版P591和第八版P712的excuse “verb原谅，宽恕”词条下，只不过是翻译为“对不起，打扰你一下。”

以笔者可以查阅到的资料，直到2010年5月出版《薄冰高级英语语法》一书薄冰教授一直都延续了以上关于动名词复合结构的观点。

“例句3”和“例句1”很相似，“例句3”是正确的用法，从而也可以印证“例句1”中的dealings应当去掉词尾的s。

众多的语言专家持有和薄冰教授相同的观点。例如姚兰芝2012年在其主编的《英语语法详解》一书中的表述；还有薛永库2013年在其主编的《通用英语语法》一书中的讲解。

综上所述，似乎可以得出以下结论了：“例句1”是错误的，“例句1”中的dealings应当去掉词尾的s，改为dealing。

但是，事情没这么简单。且看下面的进一步探究。

美国当代英语语料库（Corpus of Contemporary American English，简称COCA）是由美国杨伯翰大学（Brigham Young University）的Mark Davies教授开发的美国最新当代英语语料库，是当今世界上最大的英语平衡语料库，涵盖美国这一时期的口语、小说、流行杂志、报纸和学术期刊五大类型的语料，在这五个类型方面基本呈均匀平衡分布。COCA免费在线使用且在线方便（网址是http：//corpus.byu.edu＼coca）；规模大（拥有4.5亿个以上的语料）；查询速度快（一般用时仅几秒钟）；词性标注易于理解；时效性强（每年至少更新两次并且每年新增至少2000万个词汇）。COCA是观察美国英语使用和变化的一个绝佳的窗口。

笔者通过搜索COCA语料库发现：

（1）“her dealings with”有33条语料。例如USA Today有以下这个句子：

As for her dealings with Kahlo：“She admired Frida from an artistic point of view， …”（以下简称“例句4”）

而搜索“her dealing with”只有两条结果。

（2）搜索“dealing with”词条，可以看到以下这个句子：

…only time I′ve seen somebody shot.And，you know，in my dealings with homicide investigators，for example，one of the things they like to do.（以下简称“例句5”）

“例句1”出自《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》的第六版和第八版，由英国牛津大学出版社出版其英文版，代表了英国当代英语的最新发展趋势。“例句4”和“例句5”出自COCA语料库，代表了当代美国英语使用和变化的最新趋势。“例句1”、“例句4”和“例句5”中的her＼my dealings with都作了介词的宾语。这表明：当deal with意为“打交道”，在句子里以动名词复合结构的形式作介词的宾语时，当代英国英语和当代美国英语都可以用复数。

但是，@种新的处理方式已经不再符合以薄冰教授为代表的以下传统观点：动名词复合结构由名词的属格或物主代词后加动名词构成，其中的动名词不能使用名词化的复数形式。

三、结论与启示

本文阐述了《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》的第六版和第八版、薄冰等语言专家以及COCA语料库关于deal with意为“打交道”并在句子里以动名词复合结构的形式作介词的宾语时的不同处理，从中至少可以得出以下结论与启示。

第一，现代英语已经发生了很多变化，以前被语法学家们认为错误的用法现在却变得很通行。本文发现的deal with这个例子或许只是“冰山一角”。

第二，辩证唯物主义的观点是我们认识世界和改造世界的正确观点，也是我们学习语言时应当牢固树立的观念。辩证唯物主义认为：静止是相对的，变化是绝对的，任何事物时刻都处于不断的发展变化之中。据此，包括英语在内的所有语言也应当是发展变化的。本文发现的deal with这个例子印证了上述辩证唯物主义的观点。

第三，语言的变化（当然包括语法的变化）是缓慢的、渐进的。

第四，英语语法的发展和变化给英语教学、考试、研究、词典的编纂等方面不断提出新要求。在教学和考试方面，要求教师和命题人密切关注英语语法的最新变化，以变化后的内容为教学或命题的依据。在语法研究方面，要求研究者适时更新出版物的内容。在词典编纂方面，要求编纂者及时更新词典的内容，把英语的最新变化及时传递给读者。

第五，功能强大的英语语料库是英语学习者应当掌握的学习资源。英语语料库借助信息技术的强大功能，储存和更新了海量的语料资源，更能及时反映英语的最新变化。

最后需要指出的是：语言的发展变化有内因和外因两个方面，内因是指语言系统内部各要素彼此之间的相互影响和相互作用，外因是社会的发展变化。限于笔者目前的研究能力和研究视野，本文只是发现了deal with在动名词复合结构中的历史变化这一现象，未深究导致该变化的原因，这将是笔者后续努力的方向，也期待能启示志同道合者继续深入研究。
