一、引语
在跨文化交际中，不同母语的交际双方往往会根据各自母语文化中的语言礼貌准则对交际的各方面进行诠释、理解(Gumperz andCook-Gumperz，1982)。论文写作，文化差异。当非英语母语者用英语和英语母语者交流时，文化差异的语用负迁移可能会引起对非母语者整个品质、形象错误的判断(Kotani，2002)。感谢语使用不当或应该使用时没有使用，会被视为无礼表现，对人际关系造成负面影响。表达感谢要讲究策略。由于东西方文化差异，汉英感谢存在明显的差异。因此，有必要对此进行探索，以帮助减少或避免我国学生用英语表达感谢时的语用失误。
二、英文中感谢的表达方式
1.Thank you的使用范围
英文化中，thank you/thanks到处适用，特别是服务性行业，如商店、饭店、车站、机场等。因为自动、客套、机械的thank you/thanks(真诚的、发自肺腑的感谢除外)，作为一种礼节，多数时候是表示一种认可：对服务的认可，对会话结束的认可等。Thank you的社会作用在于承认或认可从他人(的行为中)得到了好处，即便是很小的好处：如售票员递票给乘客，银行职员从柜台上递钱给顾客，侍者为顾客端来一杯咖啡等。并把英语中感谢的最基本形式Thank you/thanks的主要作用概括如下：(Thank you/thanks是最基本的词语，在此基础上可以进行增补和加强，以显得更礼貌，如：“Thank you very muchindeed”，“Thanks ever so”)
ⅰ承认得到好处；
ⅱ递给自己东西，认可得到好处；
ⅲ提前表达感谢(如服务，主动提供，许诺等)；
ⅳ不再需要某人或某人的服务；
ⅴ接受会话结束的标志(特别是电话中)；
ⅵ会话结束(e.g.Eisenstein & Bodman，1986；1993)；
ⅶ接受主动提供；
ⅷ寒暄(如：作为对“how are you”的回答，“fine，thanks”除了寒暄，几乎没有什么实际功能，仅仅是让问话的人感觉舒服而已。
ⅸ结合不同的音调，可以表示懊恼，讥讽，挖苦和唐突无礼(e.g.Eisenstein & Bodman，1986；1993；Okamoto & Robinson，1997)；
消极请求。如：“Thank you for notsmoking”——请求听话者不要抽烟。论文写作，文化差异。

Thank you/thanks在会话序列中出现的地方不同，作用也不同，如：Thank you 作为会话标志，表示服务的各个阶段。在餐馆里或售票处，我们可以常常听见以下的对话(Coulmas，1981)：

Passenger：Thank you.(接过票时)
Conductor：Thank you.(结束对话)
Eisenstein & Bodman(1986；1993)通过自然观察、书面/口头问卷和角色模仿等方式，从英语母语者和母语主要为汉语、朝鲜语、日语、俄语和西班牙语、正在美国学习的学生(他们在美国的平均时间为两年)获取的数据进行分析研究，发现这些英语水平很高的非英语母语者在受惠程度很高的情景下，找不到合适的言语方式来充分、恰当表达自己的感激之情：不仅表现在语用语言方面，也表现在社会语用方面。其研究结果表明，外语学习者通常只认识到表达感谢的普遍性，没有意识到跨文化中的重大差异。
三、汉英感谢的差异
1.理解差异
汉语的感谢语多用于确实受人之惠时，少了西方文化中的客套，多了发自内心的真诚。因此，在我国的一些行业，特别是服务性行业，按照我们自己的社会文化礼貌准则，对方纯属工作范围内履行职责，没有必要说谢谢。我国偏重于集体主义文化，家庭成员、至亲好友被视为自己不可分割的一部分(Scollon &Scollon，2001：145)，“自己人”互相帮助，理所当然，如果道谢，反而见外了。
英语同其他语言进行对比时，差异在于对谁说thank you，何时说thank you，何地说thank you。论文写作，文化差异。受惠可分为两类：实体(如礼物，服务)和非实体(如祝福，赞扬，提供，建议等)。影响感谢最重要的因素是受惠的类型，同时双方的关系，受惠的程度。施惠者在时间、金钱、精力等方面的付出，场所 (work or at home)会相互作用。如施惠方作为朋友借给了受惠方500美元，英语母语者觉得“You’re a lifesaver.Thanks.I’llnever forget it.You really can’t imagine what this means to me” 恰当、充分地表达了内心的感激。但是，如果施惠方和受惠方的社会地位相差大，表达反而简短。
还有一个很大的差异：收到礼物时，中国人会把礼物放在一边，不会当着送礼者的面打开，以免显得贪婪，看重礼物而冷落送礼者；而一般西方文化的礼仪是当着送礼者的面打开并致谢。在某些情况下，受惠程度很高时，除了当面感谢，事后再打一个电话或写封短信，才合乎礼节。
2. 英语感谢表达差异
英语母语者表达感谢的形式在不断变化和创新。我们处在一个外语环境，同英语母语者接触的机会相对较少，如果不能正确理解这些表达方式，也有可能导致交际失误。
譬如单词cheers和 ta 。非正式场合，随处可以听见 cheers 和 ta。举杯时常用的cheers可以用来表达感谢，也可以作为对感谢的回答。论文写作，文化差异。Ta用于感谢和道别，有good-bye的意思。如：
A：I’ll I’ll give her enough.
B：yes.
A：ta ta love.
又如：
A：The grapes please.
B.Seventy P.
A.Thanks very much.Ta verymuch.
B.Four twenty two.

B.Thank you.
A.Thanks.Thanks a lot.
从这个例句中，我们知道两点：a) ta 用来表示感谢或道别；b) thank you/thanks既可以用来感谢，也可以用来作为对感谢语的回答，表示一种认可。
4.感谢的音调
当需要表达真诚的感谢时，发自内心、不虚假的感激，相信英语母语者是能体会的。非母语者在用英语表达真挚谢意时，其音调缺乏母语者表达感激之情时的热情和真诚。可能因为是非母语表达，他们正忙于搜寻合适的词语，而忽略了语音语调。感谢表达说话人的一种认可和感谢的心理状态，少不了恰当的音调。
A：Don’t say anything dumb in your interview.
B：Well，thanksa lot.It’s nice to know you have confidence in me.
这里的thank you，结合音调，言外之意应该是懊恼或气愤。
四、结束语
会用英语说 thank you/thanks，并不表示我们已掌握英语里感谢的礼貌准则，能恰当、得体地加以运用。论文写作，文化差异。汉英两种语言中的感谢从理解、表达都有很大的差异，跨文化中的交际双方都应对此有一定的掌握和了解。当我们用英语表达感谢时，交际对方倾向于用英语文化中的准则对我们的言语行为进行评断。论文写作，文化差异。充分利用影视资料，让学生从中学习、体会和掌握言语行为的正确使用，是减少语用失误，增强学生语用能力的有效途径之一。

致谢是论文或专著中不可缺少的一部分，作者通过致谢对个人或机构的帮助表示感谢，由此为自己建立一个良好的学术和社会身份。口笔语中的致谢研究由来已久，如Hyland（2003，2004）提出回顾、感谢和宣称三语步模式。马蓉和王新国（2005）发现，许多中国学生对致谢部分的表达没有把握，该部分写作主要通过模仿他人论文来完成。赵明炜和姜亚军（2010）分析了中国学生硕博论文中五种表达方式在各个语步中的分布情况及高频词汇等。李丽华和陈新仁（2010）从功能角度（包括致谢对象、感谢原因等）对学位论文英文致谢进行了研究。
但是现阶段关于学位论文致谢部分的研究存在几个问题：首先，少有研究分析中国硕博士学位论文英文致谢是否存在差异。由于硕士和博士专业水平存在较大差距，因此两个群体在英文致谢中的异同点值得探讨。其次，此前研究多数将句式进行简单罗列或列举出高频单词，而未把高频句式与单词有机结合起来，归纳出常用的表达方式，即词块。词块，又称预制语块，是指由单词或其他成分组成的连续或非连续序列，不受语法分析的限制，整体存储和使用（Wray，2002）。词块在写作中的作用已得到证实，如戚焱（2005）指出词块有利于提高写作的流利性、表达的地道性和生动性以及学生的篇章组织能力。因此，总结出学位论文致谢部分的常用词块不仅可以减轻学生写作时的负担，同时可以提高论文的写作质量。
2.研究问题及方法
本研究选取60篇中国硕博论文中英文致谢部分，拟从词块类型（二词、三词、四词词块）和功能（感谢主体、感谢行为、感谢对象、感谢内容和连接词块）两个角度出发，通过对比分析中国硕博学位论文英文致谢中的词块，旨在回答以下问题：
1）中国硕士生和博士生在学位论文英文致谢部分中所使用的高频词块数量及类型有无异同？原因为何？
2）中国硕士生和博士生在学位论文英文致谢部分中所使用的每一功能的高频词块有何异同？原因为何？
为确保数据的可靠性，本研究采用机器与人工相结合的方法提取词块。语料中的高频词块界定为二词词块出现5次，三词词块4次，四词词块3次。
3.结果与讨论
3.1硕博论文致谢部分词块类型对比分析
经分析，硕士语料中的词块总数远小于博士语料。前者为57，后者为95，前者比后者少了约40%。
从各类型词块数量上讲，两者也不尽相同。硕士语料中三种词块比例相当。而博士语料中三种词块使用数量相差相对较大。两语料中，四词词块均使用最多，且占总数比例相当，但数量上硕士语料比博士语料少了约46%。两语料对比，三词和二词词块的比例相差较大。值得注意的是，硕士语料中较多使用三词词块，而博士语料中二词词块的数目相对较多。
两语料在词块数量及类型上之所以出现较大差距，除篇幅原因外，还可能因为博士生在表达过程中更注重长短交替的语言变化，硕士生由于学习年限较低，在此方面的意识不够强烈。
3.2硕博论文致谢部分词块功能对比分析
经分析，硕士语料中感谢内容、感谢行为和感谢对象所占比例相差不大，而其他两类功能词块数量较少。但博士语料中各功能词块所占比例差距很大。
从每一词块功能来看，硕士语料中的3个感谢主体均包含在博士语料的8个中。两份语料中的感谢行为词块在各自词块总数中所占比例几乎相同，而数目差距主要由修饰语造成。就感谢对象而言，硕士语料中数量偏高同样是由修饰语及后置定语引起。感谢内容上的差异在两份语料中最为明显，其原因同样是修饰语以及表达的多样性。两份语料中出现的连接词块都很少，这是因为论文致谢部分格式较为单一，学生基本按照每段感谢一个人或一类人的模式写作。
4.结论与启示
通过对比中国硕博论文英文致谢中的词块，本研究得出以下结论：
1）硕博论文英文致谢部分词块使用总量差距很大，硕士论文总数远小于博士论文。这说明硕士阶段的学生对致谢部分的表达方式仍待进一步学习和提高。
2）硕博论文英文致谢部分各功能词块使用水平参差不齐，引起差距的主要原因为修饰语的使用。此外，博士论文语言相对丰富，硕士生要在语言多样性方面进一步加强。
本研究初步对比分析了硕博论文英文致谢部分的词块，发现硕博语料中存在的差距，对硕士论文英文致谢部分的写作提出了相应建议。不可避免的是，本研究仍存在一些不足之处，如所选语料样本较小，语料体裁单一等。以后的研究可扩大语料范围，进行更为详细的探究，以帮助硕博学生更好地进行论文写作。

It is a celebrating day. I got in touch with Michael whom I have been losing contact for one year.
It is really magic. I was searching online aimlessly yesterday when an idea struck me suddenly: since Ben can find out my secret by keying in my name in the search engines, why can’t I do so, either?
I intended to find out something about Ben in revenge in the first place, but soon extend my name list to a wider category. It was then that I recalled Michael suddenly.
We have lost contact since our last correspondence in my senior 3. He mentioned to me in his last letter that he was preparing for going to UK to further his education. I, shamefully, was too busy to reply his mail then. When I was recommended to ZJU and won the final freedom, I thought he had already been in UK so I had no idea where to write him.
I used to think that we would never meet again. However, when I browsed the entries about him, I found out excitedly that he is still in P.R.C.!!Without a moment hesitation, I ran upstairs to my dorm and found out my old address book. Thank goodness, his home no was still there.
After 3 times calling with no answer replies, I eventually got him on the phone. He was more surprised than I could imagine that when I asked for his hp no he was too nervous to remember it. :P Hehe.
Life is enjoyable in moments such like this. Old friends meet again surprisingly, on a road of their own ways to their dreams. they look at the face of each other, and recognize the old pal. It is such moment that makes me feel grateful to life: whenever I set off for a new destination, I see I have friends in the same direction, with whom I won’t feel alone any more.
